Inspired by the early 70's Topanga Canyon bohemian vibes that influenced an iconic album, Dennis Hopper and Dean Stockwell to write a script of the same name and a president's daughter to grow cannabis find love with an Eagles guitarist.
Topanga Canyon in the early 1970s was a haven for artists, musicians, and free spirits, embodying the essence of the California dream. It was a time when creativity flourished, and the canyon's unique atmosphere inspired one of the most iconic albums, capturing the spirit of the time, blending folk, rock, and introspective lyrics that resonated with the counterculture movement.
In this idyllic setting, even the most unexpected figures found their place. A future president's daughter became infamous for her rebellious spirit, which included growing cannabis in the canyon, symbolizing the freedom and defiance of the youth of that era. Meanwhile an Eagles' guitarist, found warmth in her arms amidst the natural beauty and tranquility of Topanga Canyon.
From the tops of the golden hills covered in sun-warmed grasses to the cool, tree-shaded canyons where a river runs through it, life in Topanga Canyon was a blend of simplicity and profound beauty. Residents enjoyed a slower pace of life, surrounded by nature's splendor. If the sun became too intense, a short drive to the Pacific Ocean offered a refreshing escape, with its cool breeze and stunning coastline. Here are the fragrance notes that compose After the Gold Rush:
